Dharma Yoga…the art of calm
Hi, I’m Pamela from Dharma Yoga. I teach a range of different types of yoga. My general adult class tends to be a beginners ashtanga yoga (which can we a wee bit more of a workout that other types). This class (Sundays 11.30am) follows the same set sequence of postures every session so its great if you like to keep track of your progress and see where you’re improving.
I’m also currently running a Mummy and Me Yoga class (Fridays 2 – 3pm) which is for new mums and their babies. The babies get to chill out with a wee massage session, before mums get the chance for a bit of stretching and toning with a mini yoga class. All followed up with a wee blether and some tea!!
During the school holidays I run family yoga sessions. These are for children around 5 – 11 years old with one or both parents for company (younger and older children are welcome but may find some of the activities not suited to them). These classes include short mindfulness sessions, games to introduce and play around with different postures, stories which include the group trying different postures and a relaxation at the end.
Pregnancy yoga classes have now started at the studio (Sundays 1.30pm). These birth preparation classes include breath work, postures to help maintain good health during pregnancy and to develop strength and stamina for childbirth, and relaxation sessions (with recordings/scripts that can be used during labour).
